AC Art Experience 2025: David Lieser / Through This Decade
We at AC love art. Because we in architecture can learn a lot from art. So why not create a new format: The AC Art Experience! We believe that art is worth experiencing anew every day – not just in relation to architecture.
We celebrated the successful launch of our new format on June 17, 2025, with the vernissage of artist and long-time employee David Lieser and his exhibition "Through This Decade". In our office in Vienna’s Ungargasse, eleven works by David Lieser, created between 2015 and 2025, can be viewed by appointment until further notice.

Award Ceremony: Architects Collective Student Award for Healthcare Architecture 2024 – The Heart for Healthcare Architecture Beats Strongly!
On April 25, 2024, the winners of the first Architects Collective Student Award for Healthcare Architecture, in collaboration with TU Wien, were ceremoniously presented in the Prechtlsaal and awarded prize money totaling 7,000 euros.
Healthcare Architecture is far more than the planning of individual typologies such as hospitals or nursing homes. It begins much earlier in the prevention of illness or the need for care and must start much sooner in urban and spatial planning to promote community and health. The healthy city, the healthy community – these are topics that also lie within the responsibility of architects as designers of society and the world – and they require and deserve support in research, teaching, and practice.

audacity architecture talks 2023: Do You Care? Do We Really Care? How and Where Do We Plan Living Spaces for People with Care Needs?
The need for places and spaces where people can be cared for in an ethical, health-promoting, and affordable way, enabling them to live with dignity, will grow rapidly and significantly in the coming years.
Where are the people? Placed in a nursing home on the outskirts of the city – where, if they’re lucky, they might occasionally be visited? Or perhaps right in the middle of the city or community, where they have the opportunity to participate in public life despite their limited daily routines? And what about young or younger people who need care in the short, medium, or long term?

audacity architecture talks 2021: The Hospital Organism Post-Covid-19
What will the clinic of the future be like? A protected, sterile place with maximum flexibility based on the lessons of the pandemic? An open space for social interaction and the well-being of all people as a green marketplace and central hub in urban planning?
Conclusion: Healing Architecture is a sustainable investment in the healthcare system. It endures for a long time, is often overlooked, must be explained in the broader discourse of societal policy, and returns tenfold to the healthcare system as a sustainable investment in the spatial well-being of patients. It requires a new culture with an awareness of creating and ensuring beneficial encounters and interactions in healthcare buildings, fulfilling the ethical mission of healing while aligning with economic goals.
